Villa with wood in sight

LignoAlp built this private residence in Roncaiolo, a small hamlet in the Val Trebbia valley in the province of Piacenza. A restrained colour palette for both the exterior and interior ensures harmonious integration into the surrounding nature and a pleasant living environment. The new building was constructed on the site of an old house that was in a state of disrepair. It follows the floor plan of the old building, which also served as a support for the steep slope, thus compensating for the difference in height between the road and the garden above the building. The house has a reinforced concrete ground floor, while the two upper floors were constructed by LignoAlp using timber: the exterior walls are timber frame construction, with a solid ceiling made of cross-laminated timber, which – like the roof – remains visible.
