More "clean" electricity

Damiani-Holz&KO AG has been pursuing the goal of introducing environmentally friendly technologies and reducing its ecological footprint for many years. A new photovoltaic system has been in operation in Brixen since May 2023, thanks to which the company will produce a total of 520,000 kWh of electricity from solar energy per year in future.

Already 25 years ago, when the term "sustainability" was not used as inflationary as it is today, the company took an important measure with wise foresight: a district heating plant was realised in Deutschnofen, which is operated with wood waste from production. Since then, this has supplied environmentally friendly energy for the company's own buildings, as well as for private individuals, another business and the nearby 4-star Hotel Pfösl.

This year, another important step towards an even "greener" company was taken with the expansion of the photovoltaic system in Brixen. A total of 726 modules were installed by Elektro Obrist between October 2022 and April 2023. This means that photovoltaic systems with a total output of 470 kWp have been installed on the company's roofs at the Bressanone/Brixen and Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen sites, with an expected annual production of 520,000 kWh.

This means that in future the company will produce 65% of the electricity it needs using environmentally friendly solar energy. This measure, along with the recent installation of new energy-saving LED lighting and the conversion of all forklift trucks from diesel to electric drive, will have a positive impact on the company's ecological footprint.
